University of Reading continues to rise in the rankings

The University of reading continues to conquer the top of the rankings: the University won coveted 29th place in the list of the best universities of the United Kingdom version of the famous publication "the Guardian University Guide 2018", leaving behind 8 universities in the "Russell group" and becoming the best in the country in several subject areas.

Six programs of the University included in the top ten in the United Kingdom:

• Education (3rd place)
• Earth science and Oceanography (4th place)
• Agriculture, forestry and food industry (4th place)
• Filmmaking and photography (5th place)
• Construction, planning of cities and regions (8th place)
• Pharmacy and pharmacology (9th place)

5 programs of the University included in the 25% best in their subject areas: accounting and Finance, business, management and marketing, forensic science and archaeology, craft & design and English language and literature.

In the "Guardian University Guide" based on surveys of students and assessment of quality of educational services, unlike other lists that rely on the quality of research. The drafters of the "Guardian University Guide" take into account the following indicators: results of a State survey of Students, financing per 1 student ratio number of teachers and students, career opportunities for graduates, and assessment of the diploma in comparison with the estimates in the document about the previous education.

Other University rankings also note the high quality of teaching at the University: "the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2017" placed the University of reading on 18-th place in the United Kingdom, "Сomplete University Guide 2018" — on the 26th. The University is 175-e a place in the world in the prestigious list of "QS World University Rankings 2016" and include a 1% of leading world universities.
