The Cardiff University: grant to study the impact of the PhD theses

The purpose of the grant awarded to Cardiff University, is exploring ways to increase the usefulness of PhD theses in the field of arts and Humanities to the General public and public organizations. Cardiff University was ranked 15th in the rating of scientific research in the UK and in the elite group of research universities of Britain, known as the Russell Group.

Typically, research in the social sphere have a limited impact on local society, the study of the properties which is the goal of these studies. This project needs to find a new field of studies which are closest to the interests of society, and thereby increase their effectiveness. Grants Fund research by two scientists, defended the degree of PhD (post-doctoral Research Associates), in the faculties of history, archaeology, religion, media and cultural studies Cardiff University. Funding provided by the National Council for social research of great Britain (AHRC) and will be distributed in the form of grants for a three-month projects.

The launch of a pilot funding scheme aimed at the involvement of the wider scientific community, in cooperation with the small and medium business, cultural and public organizations and population. This interaction needs to be studies more relevant to the current needs of society and reflecting the most recent social trends.
