Two partnership Fund – Helen MacArthur and the American family Foundation Schmidt based managing Director of Google Eric Schmidt and his wife Wendy announced the formation of a joint scholarship Schmidt-MacArthur for postgraduate research £14000. Scholarships will be awarded to students with 10 affiliate universities in the world.
British universities participating in this program, it Imperial College London, University of Cranfield and London Business School. Imperial College London is among the leading scientific, civil engineering, and medical research and educational institutions around the world. University of Cranfield is one of the 15 best universities in Britain and the London Business School - one of the best business schools in the world.
Graduate students applying for scholarships must study the design, engineering or business at one of our partner universities, and they must be approved by the supervisor, is responsible for supervision of their research activities. Applicants of the scholarship must submit their ideas for developing "creative and innovative approaches in terms of the so-called circular economy" and, in the case of a positive decision, they will be invited to summer school in London in June 2013. The scholarships are intended for the development of approaches to increase "circularity" of the economy, i.e. increase the degree of renewability of the resources used and/or re-use without harming biosphere. The scholarship will Fund three years of research, and the number of scholarships will increase from 10 this year to 25 in 2014 and 2015.
