In late summer two professors at the University of Glasgow have been elected as members of the British Academy. Professor Colin Kidd and Stephen white will be officially accepted into the Academy at a ceremony in September, while on the admission of new members was announced on 22 July at its annual General meeting. At this time, the British Academy has received 38 new members. The British Academy is the national body in the UK for the Humanities and social Sciences. Its purpose is to recognize and support excellence in the Humanities and the Sciences socialnyh across the UK. Currently in the ranks of the Academy has about 900 members, who are eminent scientists of the world svetot.
