12.05.10. Open University students have access to one of the most advanced digital libraries in the world

According to Mark Frary from Timesonline the Open Library (and online library of the Open University) website receives about 2.5 million hits every year, mainly from the 30 to 40 per cent of the students who need regular access to the library’s services.

Users have access to 400 online databases, 30,000 e-journals and hundreds of thousands of e-books, covering everything from the Journal for East European Management Studies to the archives of The Times. The Open Library also hosts Open Research Online (ORO), a free, publicly accessible repository of the university’s peer-reviewed research. Last year more than 1,000 pieces of research were added to the ORO database. Read full text here.
