The governing bodies of the two Welsh universities have agreed to establish a United University of South West Wales. The main purpose of the new relationship - the formation of a special structure, which would combine support functions under one Central organization. The identity of today's brands University of Trinity College and the City University of Swansea will be saved.
It is expected that the new school will exist as a regional educational group comprising two universities and vocational colleges in South West Wales. This two-sector structure should provide a continuous educational process and facilitate the selection of curriculum. In addition, it will help to develop joint educational standards that best meet the needs of employers.
