Mario Vargas Llosa, one of the leading writers and innovators of modern Latin American literature, former Professor and Emeritus Professor , king's College, University of London, received the Nobel prize for literature in 2010. Before he decided to become a professional writer, in the 1969-1970 school year, Mario Vargas Llosa was lecturer in Spanish American literature at the University Department of Spanish and Spanish-American studies. In July 2005 he was appointed honorary Professor of the College. King's College, University of London now has ten Nobel laureates.
