  • TOEFL internet-based: 71
  • TOEFL paper-based: 525
  • IELTS overall band: 6.0  
  • PTE (Pearson Test of English) academic overall score: 48
  • MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery): 75 
  • SAT (new) evidence-based reading and writing: 510

Engineering

o   Engineering science programs:

·         3.0 GPA

·         22 ACT/520 SAT* (taken prior to March 2016) or 550 (taken after March 2016) mathematics subscore;

·         4 years of high-school math (4th-year emphasis on trigonometry or pre-calculus) and high-school chemistry; high-school physics is strongly recommended.  

o   Engineering technology programs:

·         2.5 GPA;

·         20 ACT/480 SAT (taken prior to March 2016) or 510 SAT (taken after March 2016) mathematics subscore;

o   Information technology program: 2.5 GPA

 

*Students who do not have an ACT or SAT score can take UT's math placement test (ALEKS) for a fee of $25.00 USD. Students must score at least 46 points for Engineering Technology programs or at least 61 for Engineering Science programs.

o   Engineering science programs:

·         3.25 GPA

·         grade “C” or better in college calculus equivalent to MATH 1850 and general chemistry equivalent to CHEM 1230;

o   Engineering technology programs: 2.75 GPA;

o   Information technology program: 2.25 GPA

Health and Human Services

2.7 GPA

o   Exercise science: 3.0 GPA 

o   Criminal justice, paralegal studies and social work: 2.5 GPA

How to apply

  1. Complete the Application for Admission online.
  2. Mail official high-school transcripts (official translations are required for all documents not issued in English).
  3. Demonstrate proof of English language proficiency (submit a TOEFL or other acceptable English-language test score).
  4. Send official test score reports through the testing service, if required, for your major.
  5. Submit financial documentation (supporting documentation to verify adequate funding to pursue studies at UT). 
  6. Mail your documents to the Office of International Admission.
