University of Northampton

There is a wide range of accommodation available to students whilst they study, from university owned halls of residenc​e to private sector housing. The university has mixed and single sex halls based on both park and avenue campuses as well as in the town centre which include single and twin rooms with and without private wash facilities.

All halls are self catered, are provided with a term time cleaning service for communal areas and have access to coin operated washing machines and tumble driers. All rooms have access to the university network and are provided with free WiFi. Students are well looked after with a 24 hour security presence and full access to support teams. Accommodation fees vary depending on the hall and room type however all include heating, lighting and water costs as well as personal possessions insurance cover. All students are required to pay a £200 refundable deposit within seven days of receiving a room offer.

The University Centre for Employability and Engagement (UCEE) work with students throughout their degree to develop and enhance employability skills. Finishing university with a good degree is great, graduating with a well rounded and complete set of employability skills is even better. There are a wide variety of additional opportunities to develop these skills including volunteering opportunities, work placements, internships, part time jobs and the opportunity to become a university ambassador. Students are then supported to evidence these skills through their CV, job applications and interviews. All students have the opportunity to complete Northampton Employability Award during their time at the university. The award is an extra curricular, non credit bearing award which will be presented alongside a degree as recognition to those students who have gone above and beyond their academic studies​. The University also has a careers and employability service who support students in assessing and subsequently improving employability skills to increase chances of gaining graduate level employment on graduation. The service includes an online career management skills programme, elements of which link into academic modules within the curriculum.
