Yeshiva University

Student life

There are dozens of student organizations on campus, from a computer science club to the Student Holocaust Education Movement. The school has a Center for the Jewish Future, which sponsors projects like the YU Torah Online. Students design regular Shabbat programs, and produce publications at each campus, including newspapers The Commentator and The Observer.

Clubs and activities are maintained by the students in each school, generally under the auspices of a student government. Besides, YU is just a short distance from shopping, Broadway, Central Park, and a variety of museums.

Accommodation

Freshmen are not required to live on campus, though many choose to do so. However, approximately 80% of the undergraduate student populations live on campus.

Many of our students find that living on campus enhances and enriches their lives immeasurably. Whether it’s participating in the many club events that occur regularly or listening to—and interacting with—world-renowned leaders discussing a certain topic, students are not only immersed in the midst of all that’s happening at Yeshiva University but in the great metropolis of New York as well. The university provides several housing options for students, as well as kosher dining venues, and Shabbat at YU offers students an opportunity relax with their peers, great food and exciting social programming.

Housing options include: men's housing, women's housing, apartments for married students, apartments for single students.

Career services

Career center helps students to explore, clarify, and implement their academic, personal, and career goals. Organizing career fairs and on campus interviews, it is a bridge between alumni and employers.
