William & Mary University

The College is located on a 490 ha campus in Williamsburg, Virginia. In 2011, Travel+Leisure named William & Mary one of the most beautiful college campuses in the United States.

The College enjoys a temperate climate. In addition to renovations on the student recreation center (including a new gym, rock climbing wall, and larger exercise rooms), the largely wooded campus has its own lake and outdoor amphitheater. The Virginia Beach oceanfront is 97 km away, and Washington, D.C. 240 km drive to the north. In addition, the beaches of the Delmarva Peninsula are just a few hours away via the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel.

The vast majority of William and Mary's 4.9 km2 consists of woodlands and Lake Matoaka, an artificial lake created by colonists in the early 18th century. The College has shown a dedication to the stewardship and preservation of these natural elements, which are accessible via the trails running throughout the campus.

There are many clubs and activities; William and Mary has almost every sport and the resources for it. There are also many diversity clubs, dance clubs, clubs relating to students’ major, and a plethora of community service clubs and opportunities.

Students produce numerous publications on campus, including the official student newspaper The Flat Hat, the conservative-leaning newspaper The Virginia Informer, and the monthly magazine The DoG Street Journal. The school's television station, WMTV, produces informational content in the categories of cuisine, comedy, travel, and sports. 

William and Mary is surrounded by historic Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg. This is the place for any history buff. It is an excellent place for travelling. 

Nestled in the colonial capital of Virginia are the homes away from home of over 5,000 William & Mary students. Living on campus provides the opportunity to be surrounded with exceptionally smart, fun and gifted people. William & Mary has a variety of housing options available to meet just about any interest from singles to quads, suites to apartments, freshmen to grads, Living Learning Communities to Greeks.

All freshmen are required to live on campus and the majority of upperclassmen live on campus as well. 

Residence halls are fully-equipped with all the conveniences of home — in-room controls for heating and air-conditioning, kitchens and lounges on every floor, soundproof practice rooms, reading rooms and a game room.

As partners in the educational process, the university’s career center is supporting students and alumni through access to comprehensive career development programs, services, connections, and resources, empowering them to pursue their postgraduate plans and navigate lifelong career changes.

Its programs and services are designed to help students identify a career focus and learn strategies to achieve career goals. This includes everything from individual advising, core-competency workshops, lots of opportunities for them to practice core skills like networking and interviewing through resources like mock interviews, resume critiques, access to online databases and much more.
