University of the Pacific

Student life

The main Stockton Campus, featuring a tower, rose gardens, architectural columns, brick-faced buildings, and numerous trees, was used in Hollywood films, due to its aesthetic likeness to East Coast Ivy League universities: High Time, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, The Sure Thing, Dead Man on Campus and Dreamscape, among others.

The Stockton Campus is home to three main residential halls: Grace Covell Hall, Southwest Hall, and the Quad Buildings. The Quads are composed of several separate smaller residence halls in proximity to each other.

University of the Pacific has a variety of campus facilities to meet the needs of the diverse student population. From dining to working out, from studying to getting a check up, Pacific's numerous facilities have its students covered. The university’s on-campus grocery store provides students with their day-to-day necessities while the university's religious center, Morris Chapel, satisfies their spiritual side.

Pacific's intent is to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere, so students feel that campus truly is their home. By providing excellent care through its numerous facilities and services, Pacific strives to fuflfill every student's ideal college experience.

There are dozens of campus student clubs, Greek organizations, professional organizations, and academic activities that are open to the campus community. Whether a student is looking for a political cause, a way to meet people of their faith or ethnicity, or simply want a snow-boarding partner or want to see a concert or movie, it's easy to find interesting activities or events around campus.

Pacific's Stockton campus has its own movie theater, a museum, several gymnasiums, a fitness center, live theatrical performances, a concert hall, and even a small student-oriented nightclub that hosts local bands and comedians.

Also, Pacific is only 45 minutes away from a BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station, so it's easy to make a trip into San Franciscoб which is 45 minutes away, or buddy up with students and head in the opposite direction to the mountains for skiing or hiking.

Accommodation

Freshmen and sophomores must live on campus, unless they are commuting from a parent's home within 50 miles of school. Upperclassmen may live in residence halls, Greek houses or university apartments if they'd like, but they aren't required to.

First-year students may choose from 11 halls. About 85% of our incoming first-year students live on-campus. All are smoke-free and equipped with wireless high-speed Ethernet access, laundry facilities, and social lounge spaces.

Career services

The Career Resource Center (CRC) engages undergraduate and graduate students in the career development process to help them achieve their professional goals. The CRC offers resources for students, alumni, and employers to connect with one another in order to find and fill career opportunities that impart meaningful contributions to their communities.
