In addition to stunning scenery, UNM is also home to libraries, museums, art galleries, performance spaces and other cultural resources.

There are over 400 student-run organizations on campus, which include academic, athletic, ethnic, honorary, political, religious, and service groups, as well as fraternities and sororities.

The Student Union Building is a major activity center for students on-campus, with a food court, a movie theater, event facilities, student government and organization offices, student services, and recreation areas.

Another major hotspot for students is the popular Frontier Restaurant, a late-night eatery located across Central Avenue from main campus and a popular meeting spot for students.

The Duck Pond is a popular relaxation spot for students and local residents, particularly in the warmer months.

Besides, Albuquerque is a vibrant and diverse city with a wealth of attractions year-round. Residents love the warm climate, low cost of living, gorgeous sunshine, unique cuisine, and endless cultural attractions.

Accommodation

The university offers 7 residence halls and 15 living learning communities. Residence life and student housing offers three different styles of residence hall living: traditional, suite style and apartment style.  The three living styles feature many of the same amenities but each differs in concept. While all of halls are co-ed, all rooms, suites and apartments are single-gender.

UNM’s traditional halls are best known for having a strong sense of community with unique floor plans and a friendly atmosphere that make it easy for students to make new friends, build study groups or join fun activities.

Besides, recently remodeled, each suite consists of a mix of single and double rooms with a shared bathroom, accommodating up to six residents, offering slightly more privacy than the traditional halls but the same great community feel.

Looking for more privacy than the traditional or suite style halls? The university’s apartments offer fully furnished, single room occupancy with a full kitchen, dining and living room areas.

Career services

Career services center designed almost 20 career workshops which are held during the year to support the career needs of UNM students and alumni. No registration is required - all workshops are open to UNM students, alumni and community members. The organization also provides students with lessons of writing resumes & cv, cover letters, preparing for interviews, etc.
