Career services

Many students work part-time throughout their studies for extra money. If you are studying with a Tier 4 General Student visa, you may work part-time for up to 20 hours a week during term time and full-time in vacation time. You must demonstrate that you have sufficient finances and that you wish to work for experience and not for financial reasons.

You may find it difficult to gain part-time work which relates to your course. Students often work in restaurants, bars, shops and call centres. The University can help you find work through its employment service, which advertises local part-time jobs.
