Entry requirements

Undergraduate

To apply for undergraduate courses the following is required:

  • A-levels or IB: subjects and grades requirements vary depending on the course or School leaving certificate equivalent to UK A-Levels or
  • School leaving certificate and successful completion of International Foundation programme.
  • IELTS from 6.5 if English is not the first language of an applicant.
  • Creative portfolio might be required for arts, design and architecture related courses.
  • BMAT or UKCAT tests will be required for medical and some biomedical courses.
  • Application should be submitted online via UCAS.

Postgraduate

To apply for postrgraduate courses the following is required:

  • A Bachelor degree from the university in the UK or approved institution of higher education outside the UK or Professional qualifications can be accepted for some courses.
  • IELTS from 6.5 if English is not the first language of an applicant.
  • If grades at Bachelor degree are not sufficient, Pre-Masters programme can be taken by International students prior to their Master studies.
  • Relevant working experience might be required for some courses.
  • GMAT can be required for some business releated courses.
  • Creative portfolio might be required for arts, design and architecture related courses.
  • Application should be submitted online on the website of the University or via UCAS Postgraduate.

How to apply

International Foundation Programme

Applications for the International Foundation programme are taken through the International Foundation Courses & English Language Studies (IFCELS) office. Students will need to download the application from the programme’s website and email it to directly to IFCELS. ICC has entry points in late July and mid September. Students who need to focus on their reading and writing skills before they start the academic subject courses will be asked to join the programme in July.


Undergraduate / Bachelors

Entry requirements vary for different programmes. Undergraduate programme applications are taken through the UK's central universities application organization, UCAS. Applications are accepted from September in the year prior to start. Application deadline is June 30th.


Postgraduate Taught / Masters

Postgraduate applications are taken online at the University’s programme website. The deadline for complete applications for programmes beginning in September is 30 June. However, the School receives more applications than it has places so early application is strongly advised. Students also applying for funding from awards and scholarships will need to submit their application for a place certainly no later than 4 weeks before the deadline for the submission of the award or scholarship application.


Postgraduate Research / PhD / MPhil

Guidance on the application procedures is provided on the Postgraduate program website. Candidates should normally have a good Master's degree in a relevant subject. In some cases prior knowledge of a language may be necessary or advisable. Applicants are also required to submit a brief research proposal. The deadline for complete applications for programmes beginning in September is 30 June. However, the School receives more applications than it has places so early application is strongly advised. Students also applying for funding from awards and scholarships will need to submit their application for a place certainly no later than 4 weeks before the deadline for the submission of the award or scholarship application.
