HAN University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen) is one of the largest providers of education in The Netherlands, with a student population of over 33,000. Each year as many as 3,000 international students from more than 70 countries come to its two campuses.

HAN strives to be one of the top universities of applied sciences in Holland. It offers high quality, practice-based education. Its international students particularly benefit from 7 Bachelors and 3 Masters programs taught in English. The university's approach is to weave international practices into the teaching activities. Bachelors students attend lectures in the Netherlands, do their work placement abroad, study at partner universities anywhere in the world and do their graduation assignment for an international company. Masters students at HAN benefit from the professional experience of their lecturers, who are closely involved with their students’ development. Masters courses at HAN have a small-scale set up and a strong practical focus, constantly linking the course material to new academic findings from HAN research groups and current developments in the professional field.

HAN offers a wide variety of international work placements and study abroad programs to help Bachelors students get acquainted with a global work environment. HAN’s Masters courses also have a strong international orientation, reflected in their internationally oriented modules and teaching methods and close contacts with international companies.

HAN University of Applied Sciences offers Bachelor's programs in the fields of Automotive Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, International Business and Management Studies, Communication, Logistics, Finance and Control and Life Sciences, and Master's programs, which include Automotive Systems, Control Systems Engineering and Molecular Life Sciences.

HAN University of Applied Sciences has two campuses, located in Arnhem and Nijmegen.

Nijmegen is situated on the banks of the river Waal, in the east of The Netherlands, near to the German border, and is the oldest city in Holland - recently celebrating its 2,000th anniversary.

Arnhem, the capital of the province of Gelderland, is only 15km from Nijmegen and lies partially in the hills at the edge of National Park De Veluwe, a striking area of woods and heath. Arnhem is a ‘green’ city, where people take pleasure in living, working and recreation.
