DePaul University

Student life

DePaul University has five campuses in and around Chicago and its two main locations, the Loop and Lincoln Park campuses, are downtown. Individual academic colleges such as the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and the Driehaus College of Business are located exclusively on one campus. DePaul is also home to the School for New Learning which caters to adult students.

DePaul's Lincoln Park Campus is the oldest and the largest of the university's five campuses. Located on 14.6 ha in Chicago's historic Lincoln Park neighborhood this campus offers a traditional university environment. Approximately 2,500 students live on campus in DePaul's twelve residence halls.

The Lincoln Park Campus is home to the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, The Theatre School, the School of Music, the College of Education, the College of Science and Health, and the John T. Richardson Library.

Opened in 1992, the library features study and small-group spaces, an automated reference center, and a high-tech Resource Center for Career Development. The DePaul Art Museum is housed in a 15,000-square-foot building, and features a collection of over 3000 objects, including works by Chicago and regional artists, North American and Latin American photography, WPA-era prints, contemporary and traditional West African objects, and Eastern European graphic arts.

On campus, there are more than 400 student organizations to check out and students are allowed to form their own clubs too. More than 5 percent of students join fraternities and sororities.
DePaul University is located in both the Chicago loop and Lincoln Park. Chicago is known for having a variety of museums, restaurants, and other events, making a never-ending list of things for students to do.
DePaul even offers discounts for their students for places like the art institute or the movie theater. In the city, the possibilities are endless. Students can go search for new and interesting restaurants, go to the beach, go to the Lincoln Park Zoo, go to the movies, go to museums, use the school's rec center for athletic activities and games, go shopping.
Students also have an on-campus fitness center with a pool and basketball and many other activities that students can do whenever they want.
