Arizona State University

Student life

The energetic environment of the Tempe campus comprises broad pedestrian malls and eclectic architecture set amid subtropical landscaping. Landmarks include the iconic, century-old Palm Walk; Old Main, the oldest original campus building; Sun Devil Stadium and ASU’s other Pac-12 athletic venues; and the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Gammage Auditorium.

With an unrivaled commitment to sustainability, the Tempe campus is the most solar-powered of any in the U.S., and offers easy access to all of metropolitan Phoenix through public transit including light rail.

There are hundreds of clubs and organizations to choose from, with events happening almost every week. There is never a boring moment on campus, with plays, art shows, exhibitions, and games. Clubs & Organizations include musical groups, performance arts, journalism and publications, sport clubs and many others.

Besides, as campus is close to malls and Mill Avenue, there are lots of shops and great food.

Accommodation

Arizona State University offers on-campus living arrangements on all three campuses.

Living on campus helps students to be more involved in the campus community, perform better academically, and increase contacts with faculty members and students. It will provide students with additional opportunities for leadership development and significantly increase their likelihood of graduating.

ASU’s approach to residential living is centered on Residential Colleges which place students next door to classmates, faculty and advisors from the same college. This promotes creative connections and innovation both inside and outside of the classroom while providing a supportive, close-knit environment designed to help you succeed at ASU.

ASU residential students have access to academic resources programs and events tailored to their personal development and educational interests. Living on campus will helps to make the most of  years as a Sun Devil.

Aside from the on-campus dorms, Arizona State also offers residential halls for upper-division housing and Greek life housing. Greek Life housing is only available for sororities that are current members of ASU Panhellenic.

Career services

All ASU students and alumni are welcome to use the career advising and job search services provided by the university's Career Services offices on all four campuses.

Students who want to work part-time while attending classes at ASU may access on-campus hourly and federal work-study job opportunities.

Students may also search off-campus jobs throughout the valley that are not associated with the university. Employers are invited to post off-campus, part-time jobs for current students.
