Year 1: Introduces the underlying principles of business systems and technology, and examines effective data storage and manipulation; it considers systems analysis, and also explores web development, the financial management of information systems, and related topics in marketing and human resource management. Year 2: Places particular emphasis on the design and development of systems; students learn to develop systems for organisations and to produce tailored solutions in response to company requirements; they examine the impact of information systems on organisations, and a group project allows them to explore this further. Year 3: Optional industrial placement. Final year: Students investigate areas of strategic information systems management and the way information systems projects are organised and managed; there are opportunities to apply various systems methodologies and to participate in the design and development of database systems.
