Dance All years: In each stage the course focuses on the essential aspects of dance as an academic discipline, including choreography, technique, history and analysis; it also examines the creation and performance of current or contemporary dance which might involve the student in creating choreography for the camera or performing for an installation or site-specific performance; highly practical, the course concentrates on contemporary dance practices in Britain, Europe and the Americas, while theoretically examining dance in diverse contexts such as popular culture (pop videos) and classical ballet, contemporary South Asian dance forms and capoeria; typical modules include: Choreography and analysis: dance as art; choreography and analysis: dance theatre; creative industries; dance techniques; introduction to choreography; performance and media; performance practice; technologies for performance; the moving body; the study of dance. Waste management All years: Typical modules include: air and water; contaminated land; hazardous wastes management; incineration; landfill design and operation; organic wastes management; wastes management law; wastes minimisation and recycling.
