Key disciplines covered are: haematology and transfusion science; cellular pathology; microbiology; clinical biochemistry. Course includes: lectures; seminars; laboratory-based practical classes; visits to specialist centres; individual and group projects and assignments; written reports and oral presentations. Students also develop transferable skills in information technology, information retrieval, problem solving and presentations; the development of practical skills is emphasised. The final year includes a project, which allows student to investigate a topic in depth.
