Year 1: Cell biology and development; molecular biology and genetics; biochemistry; microbiology and pharmacology; human physiology and depending on the chemistry background, modules in either molecular structure and reactivity or chemistry for bioscience. Year 2: Core modules: molecular and cell biology; microbial physiology and genetics; biochemistry; principles of immunology; microbes and disease and research methods. Year 3: placement in Europe. Final year: Molecular medicine; cellular differentiation and development; advanced biochemistry or clinical immunology and microbial pathogenesis; students also carry out an individual research project which may relate to a current research area in the school.
