Year 1: A broad introduction to the subject establishes directions and methods of working; practice-based modules explore drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography and electronic imagery, and examine the realities of group working in a variety of possible contexts; a module in critical and cultural studies provides an introduction to the debates surrounding art practices, production and critical and theoretical analysis. Year 2: Students develop their own practice and build skills in marketing and selling, presentation and publicity and projects and exhibitions; students carry out work experience, work in different environments and maybe even spend part of the year studying in Europe; critical and cultural studies provides further context. Final Year: Students bring together the aspects of your personal degree programme and evaluate their work; students write an in-depth analysis of a topic related to their personal practice, and students prepare for an exhibition of your work at the end of the year; the course has opportunities for work experience and study abroad.
