The BA in International Relations explores how states, groups and individuals interact across borders, and the degree will make you think about some of the most important issues that confront the modern world. The kind of issues you might study include: the recent global economic crisis, the problems in the Eurozone, the British referendum on the EU, immigration, human rights, global terrorism, the rise of China, the power of the US, Russian actions in areas of the former Soviet Union, and so on.
The course will provide you with the necessary knowledge and study skills to gain a sophisticated understanding of how the world works. You will be taught by academic staff who are research active and experts in their field.
During the course you will have the opportunity to take part in study trips, internships and placements in Britain and Europe (see our Careers and Employability pages), as well as having the option of a semester abroad in your second year (see Study Abroad below).

International students are also able to take advantage of Norwich International Airport which is conveniently located 15 minutes from campus.
