The BA International Development degree programme focuses on the social, political, and economic dimensions of international development. The course tackles a diverse range of topics, covering issues such as poverty, gender inequality, conflict and economic growth. Alongside this you have the opportunity to study natural resource modules, examining the sustainability and governance of soil, water, food production, fisheries and more.

The programme enables you to develop a thorough understanding of contemporary issues in international development, and of academic disciplines relevant to the study of development (eg anthropology, politics, economics, geography). You will also have the chance to develop a range of skills valued by employers, including the ability to analyse data, prepare reports, give presentations, and work as part of a team.
