In the 1st year students study the core subjects that underpin sport and exercise: exercise physiology; anatomy; biomechanics; psychology; motor control and learning; the sport environment; and sports management; in the 2nd year, students can follow a study route either sport and exercise science (SES) or sport and exercise studies (Sp. Studies); students also have the opportunity to take specialist pathways in strength and conditioning, sports psychology, sports coaching, sports therapy, exercise and health and sports management in the 2nd and 3rd years; geology students develop study, practical and field skills while building a firm basis of geological knowledge; explore the Earth's history and some of the key processes in and on the Earth's surface; learn several key skills including field mapping and map interpretation.
