Stage 1: Physical, psychological and social development of the individual and the effects of any interruption of this normal process are examined; the basis of occupational therapy is studied as well as experiential learning in communication skills. Stage 2: Analysis of the theory base and study of occupational therapy approaches, enables the student to identify how the needs of the patient/client can best be met through intervention and treatment; research processes and aspects of management and social policy are also studied. Stage 3: Current issues in health and social policy in global context, together with exploration of facets of professional development in order to promote expertise for proactive practice.
