University of Chichester, BA (Hons), Childhood Studies (Early Years)
Level 1: Core modules include: child development; family change; health care for young children; education and day care for young children; special needs provision; child protection/children's rights; play; study skills, skills in reflection and research skills; there are no options at level 1. Level 2: Students can choose to study the option managing children's services; alternatively, they can choose a relevant option from the wider modular scheme e.g. creative arts therapies, currently a module on the childhood, youth and society programme. Level 3: Students can choose 3 options from an in-house range which includes cultural studies, children in developing countries and uses of play; alternatively, as in level 2, students can choose a relevant module from the wider scheme.
