Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements are normally a good BA (Hons) degree (i.e. at least 2i+/67%/GPA 3.6) with a minimum of 2 years' full-time study in Philosophy, and a Master's degree in philosophy (usually from theUniversity of Cambridge); applications should be accompanied by 2 pieces of recent philosophical work in English (1 of which should be in the proposed area of study) together with a research proposal; applicants whose 1st language is not English must provide evidence of competence in English (IELTS score 7.0, or TOEFL score 600 in conjunction with 5.0 in Test of Written English).
