Year 1: Introduction to clinical skills in clinical optometry, and basic studies such as pure and visual optics, general and ocular anatomy and physiology, physiology of vision and perception, optometric mathematics, and biochemistry. Year 2: Develops skills in clinical optometry; also covers: visual and ocular assessment, binocular vision, general and ocular pharmacology, contact lens practice, clinical methodology and statistics, and ophthalmic lenses and dispensing. Year 3: Focused towards clinical practice; subjects covered include general clinical practice, low vision and ageing, clinical case studies, ocular and systemic disease, advanced clinical practice, contact lens practice, legal and professional studies, and a research project.
