Stage 1: The taught element consists of 2 20 credit modules; during this phase students are assessed for the development and submission of a preliminary research proposal and a review of relevant literature, together with 2 research-orientated projects respectively. Stage 2: the research element comprises a programme of directed and independent study, leading to the development, production, and defence of a critical commentary; this is a comprehensive study of application of knowledge to a professional practice issue or issues shared with a theme.
