Year 1: Covers the fundamentals of computing, from the low-level internal operation of computer hardware and software, up through programming and information systems, on to multimedia and the WWW; students have the opportunity to strengthen their mathematical skills. Year 2: More specific to information systems; students study in detail: system analysis and design methods; databases systems; e-business and its professional and legal issues; plus a slection of optional units and undertake a project. Year 3: Focuses on an individual research project for which students produce a dissertation and (normally) a substantial software product; students also study advanced units on information systems management, databases and business process design and choose from a list of related topics.
