Year 1: A thorough grounding in the fundamental mathematical, statistical and optimisation techniques that are used to solve problems in financial mathematics; additional units provide experience in personal skills such as time management and computer programming. Year 2 reinforces and extends the mathematical and statistical techniques learnt so far; also financial mathematics which enables students to start applying skills to real life problems. Year 3: Project; 2 additional units in the area of financial mathematics and business form the core programme; further optional units can be chosen in areas including applied statistics, time series analysis, the solution of differential equations and operational research.
