Level 1: Core area of study: The inclusive society and integrated children’s services; this module examines the concept and practice of inclusion in education and in society generally. Level 2: Core area of study: the inclusive school and multi-agency teamwork; this module examines the concept and practice of the inclusive school and extended educational settings; in addition there is the opportunity to study specific areas such as: being healthy; staying safe; enjoying and achieving; making a positive contribution. Level 3: Core area of study: research project: investigating inclusive practice; in addition there is the opportunity to study specific issues such as: international perspectives on inclusive education; developing resilient practitioners; achieving economic well-being and visions of the good life; optional initial needs assessment: as preparation for entry to Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) programmes; at levels 2 and 3 the student is able to choose option modules to develop particular areas of expertise linked to themes such as gender issues, supporting bilingual learners and special educational needs.
