The Campus

The University itself has a very visible presence: the historic buildings in the city centre show the rich academic tradition, while the Infoversum is an example of contemporary architecture. As a student at the University of Groningen, you can use a large number of supporting facilities. There is the University Library, where you can find your study books and a place to study. Other facilities and support arrangements include wireless Internet, study areas, faculty libraries, food halls, student support services and associations, housing and sports opportunities and careers services.

Accommodation

University College Groningen is a residential college and therefore it is compulsory for students to live on campus for a minimum of 1 year. Accommodation provides private furnished room, shared kitchen and bathroom facilities, gas, water, electricity and wi-fi and costs approximately €480 per month plus €195 one-time registration fee. Besides, the University 3-stars Hotel in Groningen is located in the city center and within walking distance of most university centres. The hotel has 56 comfortable rooms and a cozy lounge. 


Career services

Career Services help students to make well-informed choices and gives them the opportunity to realize those choices by offering workshops and training courses, and by providing help with writing a CV and letter of application. Within the framework of Career Services, a range of activities are organized to help students make choices – and degree-programme choices in particular to prepare students for the job market. Graduates from the University of Groningen have gone to work in various sectors across the globe from governmental organisations to NGO’s or have become researchers or academics.
