The University of Edinburgh is one of the Scotland’s ancient Universities. The University is world -widely recognised and highly ranked being 17th in the world according to the QS 2013 and 11th in arts and humanities by the Times Higher Education Ranking 2012-2013.


The University of Edinburgh has been providing students with world-class teaching since 1583. Their famous alumni include naturalist Charles Darwin, leading Enlightenment philosopher David Hume, physicist James Maxwell, former MI5 director Stella Rimington and the former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

It is home to leading international researchers across the arts, humanities, education, law, management, health and social sciences. The University Is also a member of Universitas 21, an international association of research-led universities.
