How to apply

The following steps are for Canadian high school, international high school, Canadian post-secondary, and international post-secondary applicants:

  • Choose your program and campus. Each UBC campus has a distinct range of degree programs. In your application, you will have the opportunity to select a first and second choice. The degrees you choose can be in different faculties and on different campuses. Your second choice will only be considered if you are unsuccessful in your first choice.
  • Make sure you meet the requirements. Have you met the English language requirement? Have you met UBC’s general admission requirements? Have you met the requirements for your program of interest? Have you prepared for UBC’s online application?
  • Begin your application.

Apply for admission. The online application for UBC’s Vancouver and Okanagan campuses opens on August 20, 2014 and closes on January 31, 2015. The application deadline for Summer Session (May to August) is January 15. However, applications will remain open for Visiting, Unclassified, and Access Studies applicants. Admissions decisions for most programs are made in April or early May.

Apply for housing. If you plan to live in residence at UBC, apply for housing at the same time you apply for admission. Many first-year students are guaranteed a place in residence as long as they meet the housing requirements.

  • Submit your application and pay the fee. Finalize and submit your application and pay the non-refundable fee by January 31, 2015. Certain programs may require additional fees. All figures are in Canadian dollars. Canadian citizens and permanent resident students: $64.25 International students: $108
