Pathway to a Degree at Simon Fraser University

Fraser International College (FIC) provides international students offers international students a unique pathway to one of Canada’s leading universities. FIC students are treated like university students and, with the added benefits of smaller classes, students receive more personalized attention in a dynamic and supportive environment that better equips them for life at University.

On graduate level, FIC offers two Pre-Master’s Programs (PMP): Pre-MBA and Pre-Master’s in Engineering. The Pre-Master’s Programs are designed to prepare you for the challenges of studying in an elite master’s program at a highly ranked Canadian university.

Co-op programs

SFU has one of the largest Co-op programs in North America. Co-op is where you undertake paid work placements during your degree program. SFU offers Co-op in all academic disciplines across 54 undergraduate and 10 graduate programs, with approximately 2,500 Co-op work terms each year. 

Former FIC students have done co-op programs with many companies including Bank of Montreal, Ernst and Young, Fluor, HSBC, IBM, KPMG and Coca-Cola. FIC students are able to apply for the Co-op program after they transfer to SFU.

  • FIC is located on SFU's Burnaby Mountain campus in the thriving and culturally diverse city of Burnaby, a 25-minute drive from downtown Vancouver. Perched atop Burnaby Mountain, Simon Fraser University's original Arthur Erickson-designed campus now includes more than three dozen academic buildings and is flanked by UniverCity, a flourishing sustainable residential community.
  • Surrey campus: Simon Fraser University's Surrey campus is a vibrant community hub located in the heart of one of Canada’s fastest-growing cities.
