Pepperdine University

Pepperdine University is an American private, not-profit, coeducational research university affiliated with the Churches of Christ. Pepperdine university is committed to the highest standards of academic excellence and Christian values, where students are strengthened for lives of purpose, service, and leadership.

The university's 340 ha campus overlooking the Pacific Ocean in unincorporated Los Angeles County, California, United States, near Malibu. Consistently ranked as one of the most beautiful places to study, Pepperdine is where students are inspired to learn as they learn to inspire.

Pepperdine University has top-ranked programs for graduate and undergraduate studies, with separate schools dedicated to diverse range of specializations. Over 84% of its students get hands-on experience through student employment, student teaching, and internships.

Pepperdine University is built on a distinctive philosophy of nurturing leaders to use the tools of analysis and policy design to effect successful implementation and real change. This requires critical insights that only a broad exposure to great ideas, courageous thinkers and extraordinary leaders can encourage. It is based on the conviction that an elevated and elevating culture, as well as personal moral certainties, are the valid concern of higher education and as important as the tools of analysis. This unique perspective is reflected in the curriculum and unashamedly differentiates it from most other public policy programs.

The school upholds the New Testament-based traditions of the Churches of Christ. Students must attend 14 spiritual events a semester and take at least three religion courses during their time at Pepperdine. There is a Church of Christ on campus as well as a handful of student-led ministries.

Pepperdine is ranked the 50th among "National Universities", the 25th among Best Value Schools, and the 65th among Law Schools by U.S. News & World Report's 2017 rankings. The university was also ranked the 96th in America's Best Colleges by Forbes in 2016.

Notable alumni of Pepperdine University include prominent scientists, musicians, businessmen and women, engineers, architects, athletes, actors, politicians, and those who have gained both national and international success.
