A super-modern lecture and research campus awaits students in Brno Bohunice quarter. Classes in the city centre are taught in historical buildings which infrastructure, laboratories and classrooms have been reconstructed and modernised.

Student life is more than just lectures and exams. The International Student Club plays a key role in the lives of international students at Masaryk University, running a tutor system, arranging special language classes, organising cultural and social events, sports activities and short excursions for Czech and international students.

You can participate the wide variety of sports activities offered by the University Sport Centre. These include aerobics, aikido, athletics, badminton, basketball, bodybuilding, canoeing, a climbing wall, dance, fitness yoga, floorball, soccer, golf etc.

Restaurants, pubs, cafés – eating and drinking places of all kinds – play a central role in Czechs’ lives. For many and perhaps for most Czechs these are the natural places to meet – for relaxation, intellectual debate, discussing plans, gossiping and plotting. Thus there lots of places  with whole range of prices where students can have a meal and a drink.

Brno offers a high quality of life for quite a nice price. The cost of living is very low in the Czech Republic compared to other EU countries, and students will live very comfortably without spending too much.

Accommodation is provided for all who need it - international students usually live in a modern university residence that offers rooms for two people, each with an ensuite bathroom and kitchenette. Frequent and inexpensive public transport puts the university's faculties within easy reach. Besides, there are numerous offers of private housing that suit every taste. You also can never starve during your studies: 3 canteens and 8 cafeterias offering warm lunches and dinners, and there are also university pizzerias and restaurants.

Cost of apartment with roommates varies from 2000 CZK to 8500 CZK per bedroom. Monthly transportation pass is about 270 CZK for students of or under the age of 26 and 530 CZK for students older than 26. Groceries for a month vary from 2400 CZK to 3200 CZK.

The university regularly tracks student satisfaction as well as their success in employment and life. According to students’ and graduates’ surveys about half of students find employment even before they have  graduated. The share of unemployed graduates one to two years after finishing Masaryk University is  around 1 %. MU graduates are extremely successful on the job market.
