Student life

The friendly environment at CULS is enhanced by the fact that CULS is one of few universities in the Czech Republic with a campus, completely landscaped with trees, ponds and flower beds, making it a pleasant place to visit even for families from the local neighbourhood.

The student-centred environment at CULS includes comprehensive support for disabled students and students with special needs. University has sport facilities, library, study and information centre, university farm and Forestry estate which is a small township 40 km east to Prague, comprises about 7000 hectares of forests and 2 000 hectares of fish ponds.

Leisure time, recreation and culture are a part of student life. Each hall of residence has its own club, where concerts, films and other cultural events take place. A CULS students and volunteers network  meet new international people and everyone coming to the Czech University of Life Sciences cordially. International student club helps all the incoming students to settle down in the new environment and to meet new friends during many public events they organize.

The first and the second year students are involved in sports activities organised by CULS Department of Physical Education, DPE. These include traditional sports, such as swimming, aerobics, bodybuilding, volleyball, basketball, football and floorball. Students may also take part in other sporting disciplines up to their choice. Elder students can participate in optional sport events. 

Accommodation

The House of Residence and Mensa are purpose-built facilities of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague. They take care of the accommodation and food for students  and guests at CULS. Students are accommodated in the renovated buildings on the campus. 

Accommodation cost at CULS Dormitories, Halls of Residence for a room with 2 beds, shared bathroom & toilets is 130 EUR monthly. Health insurance is 75 EUR, meals including lunch & dinner is 250 EUR per month, monthly student pass including metro, tram and bus is 10 EUR and miscellaneous costs are about 100 EUR. Internet connection is 8 EUR monthly to be paid for.

Career services

Career consultations at the Czech University of Life Sciences are provided by the CULS Career Center. It is responsible for organizing personal and group career events, planning and preparations.

Location

Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic and is situated on the River Vltava in central Bohemia. Although CULS campus is situated in the outskirts of Prague, it is only 30 minutes away from the centre by public transport. The magic of Prague, the reputation of CULS as a student-centred higher education institution and a large bilingual university make CULS very attractive to the international students. Students and teachers are partners in education, research and even in free time. Students do not simply get educated, they learn life. CULS is a life sciences university and thus interaction between students and teachers is also full of life.
