The Master in Theatre at the Toneelacademie Maastricht offers you an inspiring programme that combines a focus on Artistic Research with extensive mentoring of your Artistic Project.

The Master in Theatre programme in Maastricht is intended for professional performance practitioners who, having established a professional practice, now seek possibilities for further reflection and development, aiming to enhance their research skills.

Your individual pathway is central to the programme and guides your artistic project. For at least 1.5 years, you will work on a performance and research project which you will present in a professional context in the final phase of the programme.

Together with other professionals (fellow students and the Toneelacademie team) you will examine it critically from various angles. You will also develop your skills as an artistic researcher. The experience-based approach offers a truly in-depth exploration of your artistic project and your own professional skills.

If you wish to join the Master in Theatre programme, it is essential that you are both autonomous AND capable of working in a community. You will become part of a student group of ten highly diverse professionals. You work in an emphatically horizontal structure. The educational content is defined together with the students, everyone is a specialist, and all students follow their own unique pathway.
