Part 1: The introductory module is project-based in order to provide a range of workshops in key print and photographic processes including silkscreen, etching, and digital and analogue printing; students are also offered a lecture programme that covers the central critical issues of relevant areas of production and practice, as well as regular seminars in which they examine closely their own work and that of fellow students; students' practice grows more independent as the course progresses, while support and guidance from staff remains on hand throughout; part 2: these modules continue the development and refinement of students' creative practice through the consolidation of their skills in the print room, as well as the opportunity to take part in master classes by visiting printmakers and book artists, portfolio development sessions and external projects; students must participate in regular work-in-progress seminars with other students in order to encourage a greater depth of critical reflection and analysis; the final module is designed to enable students to produce a self-directed body of new work that demonstrates a high level of practical and conceptual skill.
