Entry requirements

To be considered for admission to the M.S. in MIT Program, applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have met the following minimum requirements: • Have a conferred bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. The M.S. in MIT Program accepts students with a wide range of undergraduate majors. • Have a minimum of two years of professional work experience (post bachelor’s degree) that includes significant managerial or technical involvement with IT. • Demonstrate strong oral and written English language skills. Non-native English speakers need to submit official TOEFL or IELTS scores. To be competitive for admission, we recommend a minimum TOEFL score of 600 (paper), 270 (computer), 100 (internet) or 7.5 on the IELTS. Applicants are no longer required to submit an official GMAT or GRE score to be considered for admission to the M.S. in MIT Program.

Location

At nearly 2,000 acres, the University of Virginia’s Grounds cover a large part of the City of Charlottesville. The Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport (CHO) is located approximately eight miles from the University. The Charlottesville Amtrak Station is located at 810 West Main Street, approximately two miles from the University.
