Programme aims to enhance the healthcare professionals’ skills and knowledge in the management of chronic diseases in primary and secondary care; focuses on the development of practice at both an individual and organisational level; biopsychosocial factors of chronic diseases are explored and the evidence basis for specific interventions is addressed in some detail; students have the opportunity to consider methodologies and research strategies appropriate to this area and to complete an empirical study in this area.
