Year 1: The emphasis is on the development of basic engineering and environmental knowledge and skills; this includes: fluid mechanics; introductory geology; introductory chemistry; environmental engineering applications; environmental chemistry; sustainability and environmental processes. Year 2: Students focus on continued development and use of skills and knowledge in environmental applications; this includes: hydrology; site investigation; engineering thermodynamics; probabilistic and statistical techniques for engineers; environmental assessment; waste management; engineering geology and energy. Year 3: Students examine some of the more complex environmental engineering topics and there is a strong emphasis on design and industrial applications; this includes: air pollution; water treatment; engineering management and accounting; hazardous waste management; remote sensing; energy management; and soil and water pollution.
