This is a multi-disciplinary taught course focusing on business and management in the Chinese context; these include, for example, Chinese-owned and foreign-owned businesses operating in China, as well as Chinese multinational firms operating outside China; the course examines in depth a wide range of issues related to Chinese business and management and its cultural and institutional environment; it draws on disciplinary knowledge from economics, organisational behaviour, human resource management, marketing, supply chain management, politics and cultural studies; students also receive a thorough grounding in social science research issues and methods, including techniques of quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis and interpretation; the course consists of 8 subject-specific course units and 1 Master's dissertation on a Chinese business and management related topic; it takes a comparative and international approach to the study of Chinese business and management issues.
