This course is for those who wish to develop the necessary skills and understanding to carry out a range of different types of social research; it involves some form of enquiry which focuses primarily on human behaviour at individual, group or social level; the approach is inter and multi-disciplinary, with psychology and sociology being the main base disciplines; students also cover methods and techniques traditionally associated with other social science disciplines; the course concentrates on real-life concerns and on field, rather than laboratory, studies.
