Year 1: An introduction to human resource management; business law; microeconomics; quantitative methods; sociology of work and understanding and interpreting financial data; students also have the option of studying information technology for business and personal and professional development. Year 2: Human resource management; industrial relations; labour economics and labour law; labour market policy; organisational psychology; and employability and entrepreneurship, with optional modules in Chartered Institute of Professional Development practices, business ethics, cross-cultural management, and human resource management in Europe or a language; work placement study abroad year: optional-students can take a study abroad period in Europe, North America, the Far East or Australia and combine it with a shorter 6-month work placement. Year 3: Contemporary personnel perspectives; industrial relations; labour law and training and development; dissertation from optional subjects such as business strategy, consultancy skills, international human resource management, managing knowledge in organisations, soft systems or a language.
