Year 1: Students build up the level of understanding and skills needed for studying at degree level; studying: the economic environment of business; business law; accounting techniques; microeconomics; quantitative methods for business, and skills for accountants. Year 2: Students study and research key areas of financial accounting, management accounting and corporate finance in more depth; this includes: cost and activity management; financial statements; management and marketing; performance management; principles of corporate finance; employability and entrepreneurship. Year 3: Work placement or study abroad year. Final year: Advanced corporate reporting; the practice of auditing; corporate governance; international accounting; strategy management accounting; students also take a dissertation or study optional modules including management decision making, strategic cost management and taxation.
